6.1.4.1.2. DNAOS Knowledge Resource Archetype Management Managing knowledge is a sophisticated and fascinating process that requires many interacting components and principles and this document cannot cover the field. Still, at first a clear understanding of knowledge architecture is required. Of course, there are many aspects to that also and we will only address one briefly here in this section, mostly because it is an important differentiator as well as a key solution concept at the root of the DNAOS technology knowledge management structure and services. Knowledge comes in many forms, infinite forms to be precise. In fact, any resource type can take any form, as long as it is still the same resource type. In other words, knowledge resource type and structure are not directly or tightly related. There are many cases and some can get quite sophisticated but a simple example can help show the implications Two invoices from two different companies, for example, are typically different, in look&feel, in organization, in structure, and in content. Yet, they are both invoices, we all know that, but systems and computers need to know it too, more so, they need to figure it out without humans having to tell them every time. The solution is for systems to recognize and manage resource archetypes, as an invoice archetype, for example, managing and reconciling differences and variations. Of course, knowledge is much more than simple invoices, and that is one major reason why the Cosmos Square knowledge sharing virtual environment requires an adequate knowledge architecture management framework which what part of the DNAOS technology is providing to the project.
