2.2.3. Orientation Axis Group

The Cosmos Square Orientation axis group is also the Cosmos Square Knowledge Architecture axis group. The orientation axis group is part of the Cosmos Square metaphor, defining knowledge organization and reference navigation.

In Cosmos Square, concepts, subjects, topics or more specifically knowledge resource representations, are located according to three main complementary orientation and navigation axis:

Along these axis, users logically navigate, access, and reference modeled knowledge, in addition to more traditional referencing tools like menus, tables of content, links, indexes, as well as searches, and queries.

The vertical (Basic) axis is absolute as it does not depend on any other orientation axis. The Radial (Simple) axis is relative to the Basic axis and the Circular (Topic) axis is relative to both the Simple and Basic axis.
