6.3.1.3. Business Tracks There are three main business tracks: Marketing, Sponsorship, and Management. The Marketing track is a fundamental project track, that starts on day one and keeps ramping up, at least until the Cosmos Square knowledge sharing virtual environment operations reach Cruise level. Accordingly, even if the marketing stage only really comes after production level operations are set-up, the development phase has marketing related activities and considerations. The development stage marketing track includes tasks related to the marketing plan definition, articulation, and implementation. The Marketing track addresses the requirement for an overall initial marketing plan and strategy, as well as impacts on design and styling, as well as in-world (e.g. Cosmos Square), on-line (e.g. support Web sites, search engines), and media presence and activities.
In many ways, the Sponsorship track is an extension and a specialization of the marketing track, but it is also very much a partnership track, a content track, and a revenue track. Sponsorship is one of the two main fundamental Cosmos Square contribution and revenue axis. Sponsorships provide content through the development of modeled knowledge resources. Sponsorships provide revenues through the sponsorship itself, as well as through related subscriptions and advertising. Sponsorships provide subscription by providing more valuable content, as well as by the dedicated users that sponsors bring.
Management is an indispensable track, especially for a tight and lean project of this magnitude and technical and strategic complexity.
