3.3.4.4. The Origins of Progressions

SIMPLICITY then selected the third chord from the left and proceeded to add yet another note, in the smaller font also, just below and to the left of the leftmost chord column, placing a small downward arrow, just to the left of the new note, and repeating the same at all octaves

A subscriber who had been playing music for sometime, noted that she had just added a seventh note, but then he wondered out lout, "why did she put a small down arrow beside it?" was it to show how that note would move next or maybe the direction that the chord would take? then it dawn on him, it must be both!

Confirming his intuition, SIMPLICITY played the previous chord, the second from the left, and it sounded nice, like if the first chord had resolved to the second one.

Happy and proud, the subscriber turned back towards SIMPLICITY, only to notice that SYMMETRY had joined her and together, they moved to the first chord on the left and added a small font note with a small upward arrow, on the right, one note above the note in chords rightest column, just to the right of it.

Letting the subscribers try to guess what would happen next, the Statues waited, and then confirmed the subscribers assumptions that the next chord would be the next on the right, the second chord from the left, producing a somewhat milder resolution.
